Artematica Vitrum with an Invitrum base - The all-recyclable kitchen

Artematica Vitrum by Valcucine is a kitchen that combines design, technology and eco-friendliness via the use of glass - the recyclable material - for the top, doors and side panel. As with all Artematica kitchens, the quintessence of Vitrum is the monobloc cupboard door with its glass panel fitted on an aluminium frame: the glass may be matt or gloss, coloured or simply acid-etched. The work top is again in tempered glass and supported on robust aluminium spars. The side-panel encasing the kitchen unit is likewise in glass. The effect of juxtaposing colour with glass is three-dimensional: the surface gleams like a film of water with the colours bursting through. Now that Invitrum has been perfected - a new system of bases in recycled aluminium and glass - the latest Artematica Vitrum becomes wholly recyclable. Unlike traditional kitchens where base units are juxtaposed, entailing double chipboard side panels totalling 36 mm in thickness, Invitrum only needs one 10 mm glass pane in between, thus saving 73% on materials and space. Since recycled aluminium is used for the metal parts of the base, only one twentieth of the energy needed to produce primary aluminium is consumed. As for the disposal phase,   has pledged to make a product that can be a resource for the future. The complete glass base system is easy to dismantle, being made of single-material units fitted together by mechanical joints instead of glue. Not having adhesives means there are no toxic emissions. Lastly, Valcucine takes responsibility for disposing of kitchens with a glass and/or aluminium drum - their Artematica or Riciclantica models. At the end of their life cycle these will be collected for disposal free of charge.
