INTERACTIVE SOLUTIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION AND MANAGEMENT

Samsung has participated in the project

How design studios work has changed rapidly in recent years, heralding a demand for ever more advanced design and data communication tools. Many professionals now work in more than one place, making effective, sharp communication a fundamental aspect of work organization and management. Samsung’s Visual Display solutions help optimize the work process, using simple displays and software designed to ensure optimal performance and comfort. By working in close cooperation with various architecture practices, architects have been able to personally test solutions, highlighting where there is room to improve the business.

Three practices - SCAPE, Piuarch and 5+1AA - have tried out the Smart Signage solution combined with a video-conference system, the EBoard, and the curved display, Ultra WQHD.

Videoworks installed Samsung 55” screens in the break area of the SCAPE practice in Rome so that a direct link could be created with the Paris office. This virtual portal provides a concrete way to share business information daily during informal meetings, breaks and other social moments, such as lunch, in both practices. This opens up new horizons and hints at new ways space might be used (even suggesting options for how things might be done on a larger, urban scale).

Samsung’s 65” EBoard was installed in the meeting room at the Piuarch practice. It has been used both for internal project presentations and discussions and also those for clients or even groups of students. The real strengths of this solution are the image quality and the ability to interface with quite large groups, encouraging collaboration and interaction using personal mobile devices. Interactivity and connections to other computers in the office network create a myriad of options to share and communicate work ideas.

The Ultra WQHD 34” curve monitors in the 5+1AA architecture practice not only improve project design (for obvious reasons, given the high resolution - 3,440x1,440 - and ultrawide ratio - 21:9), but have also simplified know-how exchange, which used to be done using Skype, video-projectors and PCs. The practices in Genoa, Milan and Paris have transversal work groups that, using Samsung technology, have increased they daily ways they can communicate about designs. Monitors are now an integral part of daily operations and other aspects, including video conferences, viewing technical videos, showing images using a series of techniques, and sharing project developments with a client immediately and interactively.

Samsung’s collaboration with architectural practices is not limited to simply providing hardware, but actually seeks to improve how such places work.

It would be fair to say Samsung is really a technological partner assisting in the design phase, working with architects and - through its partner Videoworks - helping in the determination and definition of the best automation and digital signage solutions for a project.
