With ceramic tiles convincing thanks to high quality and aesthetics, Agrob Buchtal offers architects immense design scope. Consistent systematic thinking and a variety of formats and colours guarantee coherent solutions in diverse areas of application. The most recent example for this is the collection Nova, which will be available from the beginning of 2018 and has been developed as modular format system. The series stands out due to its application versatility, but at the same time permits individual solutions thanks to exactly matched components that can be combined.
Inspired by terrazzo floors to be found in Venetian palaces, the ceramic tile collection Nova, however, presents itself in an own individual style: the distinctive feature of the surface is the grained look, which alternates with delicate streaks and soft gradations. Subtle contrasts of matt and glossy characterize the exclusive appearance, which is reminiscent of terrazzo only quite discreetly. Only the shade anthracite-multicoloured as one of a total of six colours can be interpreted as homage to coloured terrazzo.
The new porcelain stoneware series Nova of Agrob Buchtal is based on a modular system. The colour spectrum extends from cream-beige to mid-grey and basalt and on to anthracite-multicoloured. The variety of formats ranges from a mosaic of 5x5 centimetres to decorative oblong formats (10x60 and 15x60 centimetres) and on to diverse standard formats as surface covering.
In addition to these aesthetic qualities, functional advantages also contribute to the variable usability, especially the slip-resistance categories R10/A (available for all formats) as well as R11/B (30x60 centimetres).
A particular highlight is the stair tile in the majestic format of 35x135 centimetres. It permits the realization of elegant stair concepts at a quite new (design) level: the tread surfaces of most stairs can now be completely covered with one single tile. Moreover, the front edge is slightly rounded and also decorated in the respective tile design, so that unattractive undecorated front edges are avoided.
Nova is provided with the HT (“Hydrophilic Tile“) coating already ex factory. This innovative solution is based on the effect of light and lends ceramic tiles revolutionary characteristics: they are extremely easy to clean, have an antibacterial effect without using chemical products and eliminate unwelcome odours as well as air pollutants. Thus, HT saves time and money and contributes to environmental protection thanks to the considerably reduced use of cleaning agents and disinfectants.
