Marazzi’s Progetto Triennale pays tribute to the history of ceramic tiles and Gio Ponti in particular. When the company joined forces with Ponti in the late 1950s it was the first case of outstanding teamwork between design and industrial tiles, and the beginning of a process Marazzi has developed and refined over the intervening years with new products, competence and projects. In 1960 Alberto Rosselli and Gio Ponti entered the Milan Triennale with their smooth tile, named Triennale afterwards, with its four-fold curve, all different colours to give maximum expressive freedom in wall-tiling. Marazzi were already convinced of the potential ceramic tiles held, not just as cladding but as an important design factor enhancing interior decoration; and the same awareness now gives rise to Triennale, a new tile that can be laid vertical or horizontal and comes in ceramic, porcelain stoneware or crystalline stoneware. Progetto Triennale can be summed up under three headings: first, simplicity of shape from which complex patterns can nonetheless be devised; then the designer touch, all Italian style, revisited thanks to the technical know-how Marazzi has put together over time; and lastly, colour - matt or gloss, contrasting or tone-on-tone - which gives Progetto Triennale its decorative scope and application potential in widely differing contexts. Progetto Triennale differs in personality according to the materials employed wall covering by the Marazzi Tecnica Systems (A, T, N, C and L - the new thin tile); it is available in all the range of Marazzi’s Colour Plan. The collection comes in four sizes (60x93.5, 30x46.5, 15x23.5, 10x15.5), and also includes two end-pieces and a special corner; it can be twinned with other plain tiles from the Marazzi Colour Plan.
